Lead Discipline Engineer Field Instrumentation

Job disciption:

1. Takes ownership of the instrumentation engineering activities and all allocated deliverables and proactively utilise methodologies, resources and techniques for minimising the execution cost, whilst maintaining the requisite schedule and quality standard.

2. Functional Leadership to the discipline team, building a execute strategy/policy in the discipline team.

3. Provide assurance regarding technical integrity and functionality of the instrumentation deliverables, within new build and the user phase in accordance with the laws and regulations.

4. Develop deliverables as; functional specifications documents, drawings, scope of work etc. during the;
1- Conceptual phase
2- Detailed phase
3- Construction/installation phase
4- Commissioning/Installation/Migration phase.

5. Member of the Management Team, undertakes the design, implementation, factory/site acceptance test and site activities.


Responsibilities & Authorities:

•   Leadership to the Instrumentation discipline consisting of Engineering, Procurement and Inspection professionals.

•   Formulate, document, support and drive the customers strategy, focussing on the increase of asset availability and integrity.

•   Responsible for the technically proper execution of the project.

•   Coördinate’s in detail the instrumentation project team, and is active on customers site, aswell utilized their skills and experience to support the sales and proposals team in the pursuit of new business opportunities.

•   Support the Project Manager in the development of a realistic and achievable project schedule and provide them with all necessary information to ensure that they are fully informed of resource requirements, progress and areas of risk for the Lead Engineer’s allocated Engineering deliverables.

•   Understands the scope of work.

•   Ensures that all Engineerings activities are undertaken in accordance with the Company’s quality control processes and that the relevant standard is achieved.

•   Ensures that the team members allocated to the Lead Engineer, inclusive of any third parties, are provided with all necessary and relevant information e.g. details of scope, schedule, technical specifications and quality standards, to effectively deliver their allotted work.

•   Contribute actively to any assigned bid activities to ensure that the customer’s requirements are fully understood and that the innovative and cost effective solutions are proposed.

•   Primary contact for all the technical matters.

•   Overall responsible for the management of suppliers that are providing products and services associated with the Lead Engineer’s portfolio of deliverables.

•   Shares actively knowledge and experience with the wider organisation.

•   Will perform other additional specific duties, when requested by the business.

•   HAZOP, SIL, FAT activities.
